As a long-term study, KoalaVenture has allowed us to investigate many aspects of the lives of koalas, including their ranging behaviour, their breeding ecology, and aspects of Chlamyidal disease. The study has produced some groundbreaking results and, in the process, improved the world's understanding of these unique and special native animals.

Information gathered has been incorporated into the National Strategy For The Conservation Of The Koala In Australia. Tree clearing procedures have been presented to other land-disturbing industries where the requirements of native species have to be catered for, while the use of diet analysis has wide application in the interpretation of koala ecology across its range.

We have continued to assess the health and reproductive activity of the koalas throughout the extended and current drought, so that we can understand how these unique animals respond to the changing conditions.
